Two lovers rave about their never-ending relationship ... with their Ouro phone.
This spec commercial was a project for my Marketing Commercials class at Emerson College. It was a brand new course, pairing teams of Marketing students with a Film student to produce commercials. In this case my group was tasked with promoting a phone with a one year battery life.
I proposed the brand name "Ouro," referencing the ancient Ouroboros symbol of a serpent eating its tale, which commonly representing infinity. My partners from the Marketing half of the class brainstormed the concept for the commercial and I created the video itself. My goal was to create warm, homey, and intimate interview setups with the couple. I chose an acoustic, romantic song to support the visuals.
While the production of the commercial received praise, the marketing aspect of the project did not because the product and its function wasn't clear.
