A 6 minute post-apocalyptic action film currently in post production. I am the writer, producer, director, cinematographer, editor, sound designer and colorist. I began this project as the 4 year milestone of when I developed an interest in filmmaking. Before that I had planned to become an author.
Scavengers, originally titled Survivors, is the largest short film I have helmed to date and it has been quite the journey. Never have I revised a script so many times or fussed over the smallest details in the edit for so many months. I have learned so much during the creation of this film about my creative process and what I am capable of. Some of my best ideas ended up being bigger than the premise and constraints of the film would allow and I sadly had to cut them. Those themes and concepts will be recycled for later projects, possibly a sequel.
This is my first project in 4K resolution. It also features two fight scenes, and although I've technically done those before these ones were on an entirely different level of complexity, choreography, realism, and danger. Thankfully the result was better than I could have ever imagined.
Below is the Premiere Pro timeline of the latest version. The picture is locked and sound design is in its final stages. The last major step will be bringing in a composer to replace the temporary soundtrack (the bright green near the bottom of the timeline) with an original score.
